Welcome to Songbit ("we," "us," or "our"). We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application, Songbit (the "Application"). Please read this privacy policy carefully.
2. Information We Collect
a) Information You Provide Directly
User Content: To generate music, we collect the content you provide, including the text prompts describing the music you want and any custom lyrics you enter. For the Extend feature, we also collect the audio files you upload. This content is the core input for our AI generation feature and is shared with our third-party AI service provider, MusicGPT, as described below.
b) Information We Collect Automatically
Anonymous Identifiers: We use Supabase Anonymous Authentication to create a unique, anonymous User ID for you. This ID is not linked to your real-world identity (like your name or email) but helps us distinguish your account and data from others.
Device and Usage Information: Through services like OneSignal, we may collect your device type, operating system, IP address, and a push notification token to send you alerts (e.g., when your music is ready).
Purchase Information: We use RevenueCat to manage in-app purchases and subscriptions. We collect information about the products you purchase, but we do not process or store your payment card details. All payment transactions are handled by Apple's App Store.
3. A Note on Audio Data
Our "Extend" feature allows you to upload audio files to extend with AI. We want to be specific about what is collected, how it is used, and how long it persists.
What Audio Data We Collect: When you upload an audio file, we receive the audio data of that file plus minimal technical metadata required to process your request. We do not derive or store any biometric identifiers from your audio.
How We Use Audio Data:
- To extend the audio exactly as you requested and return the resulting music.
- To run automated safety checks provided by MusicGPT so that harmful or policy-violating content can be blocked.
We do not reuse the audio for model training, advertising, personalization, or identity verification.
Sharing and Storage: The uploaded audio is transmitted to MusicGPT solely so they can produce the extended music on our behalf. We do not store the source audio files in our own databases—only request metadata such as your prompt and lyrics options is saved.
Retention: MusicGPT automatically deletes the source audio once the processing job is complete. The generated music remains temporarily available for a limited time so you have time to download it, after which it may be permanently removed.
4. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
To Provide and Manage the Service: To process your text prompts and audio inputs to create AI-generated music via MusicGPT.
To Manage Your Account: To maintain your anonymous user account, credit balance, and created music history.
To Process Transactions: To manage your credit purchases and access to the service via RevenueCat.
To Send Notifications: To inform you about the status of your music generations through push notifications via OneSignal.
To Improve Our Application: To understand how users interact with our Application and to make improvements.
5. How We Share Your Information
We only share your information with third-party service providers essential for delivering our services:
- MusicGPT: We use MusicGPT (musicgpt.com) as our third-party AI service provider to process your generation requests. When you create or extend music, your text prompts, lyrics, and audio files are sent to MusicGPT for AI processing and to temporarily store the resulting music. 6. Data Retention
We retain your data only for as long as necessary:
User Content (Prompts and Audio): Sent to MusicGPT for music generation and deleted from their servers after processing is complete. We do not store the source audio files in our databases—only request metadata that excludes the audio data.
Generated Music: Your generated music is stored on MusicGPT's servers for a limited time to allow you to download them. After this period, the music may be permanently deleted. We do not store generated music on our own servers.
Account Information: Your anonymous user ID and associated data are retained as long as you continue to use the application.
7. Data Security
We use industry-standard technical and administrative security measures to protect your information. However, please be aware that no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure.
8. Children's Privacy
Our application is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
9. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Effective Date" at the top of this policy.
